Mock Draft Monday!
A couple of weeks back Trevor Sikkema and Connor Rogers of NFL Stock Exchange had a cool concept where they took Mel Kiper's Mock 1.0 and redrafted it with their picks. The rule they had in place was that they had to keep the same position Mel took, but were able to pick from their rankings and fits.
That episode sparked the idea for this mock draft: Take a mock draft and completely redraft around it so that every pick is a DIFFERENT position. In my mind this forces some alternative thinking away from popular mocks (e.g. Washington taking a WR at 4, Jets going tackle at 10, etc). It is a little odd at the top with how the QBs fall, but I do like the unique perspective it forces.
The mock that I chose to model this around is the Tankathon Mock Draft. If you haven't already looked at it, be sure to give them the click and check it out. They do an awesome job over there and are a great resource for a pretty standard prospect ranking. They also do a great job of compiling combine and college stats for top 100 players.
But once again, hopefully you enjoy the read and happy Monday! Prost!
