Round 1

  1. Chicago Bears (via CAR) - Caleb Williams, QB, USC

Do we even need to say anything else about this? Williams is -1200 to be selected first overall at the time of writing this. That is enough of a guarantee for me.

  2. Washington Commanders - Drake Maye, QB, North Carolina

If you have been a reader for a while you know that I am a Maye truther and think he is firmly QB2 in this draft. Daniels is an attractive option, but Maye offers a lot more in terms of upside than Daniels does. Age, frame, arm strength, the ability to throw over the middle, the list is extensive,

  3. New England Patriots - Jayden Daniels, QB, LSU

Now, even though I do like Maye over Daniels, I still have Daniels as a top-ten prospect. What he can do with his feet is electric and can cause issues for the best defensive coordinators in the NFL. If he can continue to build on his growth from last season, he easily could be a solid starter for the next decade.

  4. Arizona Cardinals - Marvin Harrison Jr., WR, Ohio State

If Harrison Jr. is there, expect him to be wearing a Cardinals jersey next year. I don't buy the Nabers talk, I think Harrison Jr. is for sure WR1.

  5. Minnesota Vikings (*via LAC) - J.J. McCarthy, QB, Michigan

The Vikings trade with Houston shows that they are serious about trying to move up in the draft to grab the QB of the future. The Chargers offer the first obvious doorway to that selection. Yes, a case could be made for both Arizona and New England to trade back, but the QB needs of New England makes me think they won't and Arizona has accused a ton of draft capital that they can afford to take the slam dunk with Harrison Jr.

  6. New York Giants - Malik Nabers, WR, LSU

Nabers is a special talent and can be a difference-maker for Jones in his return to the gridiron. Could they go Alt? Yes, but I think they did enough in free agency to show that the skill position is most likely the primary focus of the Giants.

  7. Tennessee Titans - Joe Alt, T, Notre Dame

This selection was almost as easy as the Cardinals picking Harrison Jr. Joe Alt has the makings of an All-Pro left tackle and helps the Titans to continue to build that wall in front of Levis.

  8. New York Jets (**via ATL) - Rome Odunze, WR, Washington

The Jets make their move and get their guy. Odunze rounds out the top tier of receiver in this draft and can be a huge win for the Jets on draft day, especially when they can out-leverage the Bears who have practically no draft picks after the two in the top-ten.

  9. Chicago Bears - Brock Bowers, TE, Georgia

I think most people will hate this pick, but I think it makes perfect sense. The Bears now have an X and a Z receiver with Moore and Allen. While it is true they can never have too many good outside receivers, the ability for Bowers to play the power slot could be an interesting dynamic for the Bears and a potential safety blanket for Williams in his rookie season.

  10. Atlanta Falcons (**via NYJ) - Dallas Turner, ED, Alabama

The Falcons make the trade and still get their guy. Is there anything more they could want?

  11. Los Angeles Chargers (*via MIN) - Cooper DeJean, CB, Iowa

With the top four pass catchers gone, I would not be surprised to see the Chargers start the run on CBs. Their secondary is hurting and DeJean could be the kickstart that team needs to turn things back around. A dynamic returner and a dominant outside cornerback who could easily be moved around as schemes and situations call upon his versatility.

  12. Denver Broncos - Michael Penix Jr., QB, Washington

Of all the rookie QBs, Penix seems like the most Sean Payton guy out there. A poised pocket passer who has an excellent understanding of the game.

  13. Las Vegas Raiders - Olumuyiwa Fashanu, T, Penn State

I would have to imagine the Raider's front office would be sprinting this card to the podium. After years of a laughable offensive line, they get a true cornerstone to build around.

  14. New Orleans Saints - Taliese Fuaga, T, Oregon State

  15. Indianapolis Colts - Terrion Arnold, CB, Alabama

  16. Seattle Seahawks - Laiatu Latu, ED, UCLA

  17. Jacksonville Jaguars - Quinyon Mitchell, CB, Toledo

  18. Cincinnati Bengals - Amarius Mims, T, Georgia

  19. Los Angeles Rams - Jer'Zhan Newton, DI, Illinois

The run on cornerbacks starts just early enough to see the Rams on the outside looking in. However, they also see Johnny Newton fall to them at #19 and can hopefully start to try to fill that Donald sized hole they now have.

  20. Pittsburgh Steelers - Jackson Powers-Johnson, C, Oregon

I was mocked by Steelers fans last mock draft for picking Fautanu, so to avoid further persecution, here is the player you all have been pounding the table for. I love JPJ and as a Packer fan would be thrilled if he fell to GB at #25, but I do not see that happening. The Steelers help Wilson/Fields with a centerpiece on the line (see what I did there?)

  21. Miami Dolphins - Troy Fautanu, T, Washington

The Steelers' loss is the Dolphins' gain. Fautanu has guard/tackle versatility and can be an AVT or Tyler Smith-type player that dominates at the interior offensive line.

  22. Philadelphia Eagles - Nate Wiggins, CB, Clemson

  23. Los Angeles Chargers (via CLE through HOU, *via MIN) - Brian Thomas Jr., WR, LSU

With their second selection, the Chargers snag my number four wide receiver and make the most of the trade. This would be an A+ first-round by LA if it landed this way.

  24. Dallas Cowboys - JC Latham, T, Alabama

  25. Green Bay Packers - Tyler Guyton, T, Oklahoma

Yes, I know, the Packers don't draft OL in the first round. Yes, I know, Walker played decent last year. Yes, I know, the interior might be a more pressing need. I don't care about any of that. Guyton plays a premium position and has the looks, tools, and athleticism of a stellar NFL tackle. That is the kind of player you grab in the first round.

  26. Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Kool-Aid McKinstry, CB, Alabama

  27. Arizona Cardinals (via HOU) - Jared Verse, ED, Florida State

  28. Buffalo Bills - Adonai Mitchell, WR, Texas

  29. Detroit Lions - Byron Murphy II, DI, Texas

  30. Baltimore Ravens - Keon Coleman, WR, Florida State

  31. San Francisco 49ers - Graham Barton, G, Duke

The top position of immediate need for San Francisco and one of the best players available, this pick seems like a no-brainer to me. This feels very much like the Jets pick did where they need to do as much as they can to maximize this Super Bowl window they are in.

  32. Kansas City Chiefs - Ladd McConkey, WR, Georgia

AD Mitchell and Coleman landed ahead of Ladd due to their size and ability to play the outside but understand this—I have Ladd McConkey as my WR5 and he would be such a dangerous player catching passes from Mahomes.

One. Month. Away.

It feels crazy to say that, but here we are. Let's kick off this Monday as we always do with the latest mock draft for the site. We're pushing it to the end of day two and grabbing picks for each team in the first three rounds.

I tried mixing things up a little with the Vikings trade and had the Chargers moving back this time. LA would trade #5 to Minnesota for #11, #23, #108 & a 2025 3rd Round. I think the Chargers have a ton of needs and one top-five selection will not fix all of them.

I also threw another trade out there after seeing how the board fell. Atlanta trades #8 to NYJ for #10 & #111. This would reflect a draft-day trade that shows the Jets moving up to get Wilson a partner in the wide receiver room. I truly think the Jets are in a win-now window and the signing of Smith definitely looks to put a band-aid on line so they can get Rogers another weapon.
